DIYit: Make a Fragrant Sachet Pouch!

Sachets are fun little bags or pouches filled with refreshing scents, which are used in closets and dressers to lightly scent your clothing, and all.  Of course you can buy sachets from a home decorating or department store, you can try your hand at making your own sachet for that personal touch using materials that can be purchased from a fabric or craft supply store, or in this case a handkerchief. It only takes a few minutes and once finished, you can place your handmade sachets into your drawers or closets to freshen your clothing.

Things you need:
  • Handkerchief*
  • Dried rose petals*
  • Dried lavender buds*
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Ribbon
  1. Place handkerchief flat on a counter top.
  2. Place about 4 tablespoons of dried rose petals and dried lavender buds into the center of the handkerchief.
  3. Drop 4 to 5 drops of lavender essential oil onto the dried flowers.
  4. Gather up the edges of the handkerchief to form a pouch.
  5.  Tie a 6-inch piece of satin ribbon around the pouch to secure it, and tie it into a bow.
  6. Place the sachet into your drawer or closet.
